Rental Requirements

Basic Requirement:

• Every customer must present a valid driver’s license and a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) with the same name as the license.
• Minimum age 23 years. Minimum age of 23 to 24 years (for international clients) with a credit card, which will have an extra charge. The charge for clients ages 23 to 24 will be $ 25 per day and add Premium protection package most be selected.
• Security Deposit according to the category of the rental car. The Security Deposit will be requested on your credit card.
• Valid passport.
• Valid driver’s license.
• The mileage is unlimited.
• Rates subject to change without notice.
• Taxes included in Rates.
• Basic protection package is mandatory and prices quoted are included.

Policies

Driving Restrictions: Driving allowed only in Panama.

Debit Cards: Debit Cards from USA with the Master Card or Visa logo will be accepted upon time of rental. For your protection the purchase of the Premium Protection Package would become a necessary condition of the rental also including the purchase of the pre-paid gas option. We must get approval for the estimated total as well as an additional deposit of $500. Once the vehicle is returned the $500 deposit will be refunded and it can take 20-30 business days to reflect back into your available balance.

Additional Drivers: All Authorized drivers will need a valid driver’s license and be subject to a $5.00 surcharge

Reservation Hold Policy: We will honor all reservations of up to two hour after the reserved pick up time has passed. You may call us or email us to change your pick up time and we will honor your reservation. Two hour after your reserved time will be considered a “No-Show” and we may or may not be able to honor your reservation depending on availability.

Extra Day Rates: All rates are guaranteed for the duration of the original term of the agreement. If the rental vehicle is not retuned on the promised date then the Extra Day Charge will begin to apply. If you wish to extend the term of the original agreement you may call for authorization depending upon availability.

Rates: International rates are only valid for International customers traveling to Panama. For local reservations please call +507 270-0355.

Pre-Paid Fuel Policy: For your convenience ALL vehicles come with a full tank of gas. If your rental period is for 3 days or less you will be charged for a Half Tank of gas which is listed at market price. If the rental is for 4 days or more a full tank will be charged upon car rental pick up. You can choose to bring it back with at least a half a tank of fuel (3 days or less), or as empty as possible (4 days or more) and not bother refilling it. You can also choose to refill it within a 5 mile radius of the return location and present the receipt upon return and a credit will be issued for the initial gas charge when you rented the vehicle.

Surcharge Information: Renter must pay a 12% airport surcharge fee on Rental cost for contracts opened in Tocumen International Airport;  6% an airport surcharge fee on Rental cost for contracts opened in Enrique Malek and Albrook Airports, Frequents Flyer miles may be subject to a frequent flyer surcharge.

Miscellaneous Products and Services Available: Dollar Rent a Car has the following products and services available upon request at the time of rental: GPS / Baby Seats / Accessories. All prices may vary.

Other Charges: Obligatory local sales tax of 7% on total contract (I.T.B.M).
